Environmental System Audit (ESA)

If your key suppliers don’t have an environmental management system, you can’t be sure they are tracking their environmental impact, you don’t know if they even know what their legal obligations and risks are. In turn, it means your supply chain may include severe risks — for instance, a key supplier might be shut down suddenly due to a lack of compliance with local regulations. If a key supplier, or your own factory, is not certified to ISO 14001 by a tier-1 certification body, we send one of our auditors to perform an environmental system audit to gather information and assess the factory’s Environmental Management System.

Typically, companies that buy products and are not sure their suppliers have a mature system to track and limit their environmental impact and control their associated risks will benefit. This is because our Environmental System Audit will help you comply with ISO 14001 because the new EU requirements such as the ‘Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation’ and ‘Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive’ will force you to drive changes in the coming years.

How much does it cost?
Pricing is tailored to each project based on its scope and complexity. Typical costs vary depending on product type, supplier location, and required support.

The environmental system audit costs from 650 USD per man-day. We typically keep it down to 1 or 2 man-days, except for larger factories if our client wants an audit relatively close to a third-party ISO 14001 audit.
